Assistant Mode

Ollie operates in two distinct modes, switchable instantly from the top bar toggle:

Editor Mode

The traditional IDE layout with the full Activity Bar, file tree, sidebars, and panels visible. Best for hands-on coding, file management, and project exploration.

Assistant (Standalone App)

The Assistant is now a completely distinct, standalone application! It provides an immersive, distraction-free workspace disconnected from the busy IDE interface. It communicates seamlessly with the Suite via MCP.

The Ollie Orb

At the center of Assistant Mode is Ollie's visual persona—an animated orb that reflects the current AI state:

Idle: Subtle, calm pulsing — Ollie is ready and waiting.
Listening: The orb responds to your voice input with reactive waveforms.
Thinking: A processing animation plays while the model generates a response.
Speaking: The orb animates in sync with TTS output.

Voice-First Interaction

Assistant Mode is designed for a voice-centric workflow. Instead of typing, talk to Ollie naturally:

Speak: Click the Microphone icon or use the keyboard shortcut to start a voice session.
Listen: Enable the Speaker icon and Ollie will read responses aloud via Text-to-Speech.
Conversational Flow: Silence detection and natural turn-taking allow for fluid, back-and-forth exchanges without pressing buttons.

Collapsible Center Dock

Assistant Mode isn't all-or-nothing. A collapsible Center Dock lets you bring code, files, or interactive apps into view alongside the chat:

View Code: When Ollie writes or edits files, they can appear directly in the center dock without leaving Assistant Mode.
Interactive Apps: AI-generated .iapp tools (calculators, visualizations) render live in the dock.
Hybrid Workflow: Get the best of both worlds—immersive conversation with on-demand IDE functionality.

[!TIP] Quick Switch: Toggle between modes at any time. Your conversation history, context, and open files are preserved when switching.
